Despite the misleading name, American Singles is actually available across the globe, servicing more than 200 countries, though the majority of its members are American. A free account gives users access to many of the online dating tools featured on the site - enough to make a connection - but the premium membership opens the possibilities much more, especially for men, who are typically expected to make the ‘first move’.

Navigating the site is simple. There are no advertisement banners clogging up space. The online dating site has a very crisp, clean feeling about it, making it more user-friendly than many of the online dating services out there.

Signing up a free membership is fast and easy, filling in the necessary personal information along with a few key factors in finding a partner, such as smoking, drinking habits and current relationship status. From this point, free members can complete an in-depth profile along with photo uploading, then proceed to searching through over 7 million registered member profiles.

Search capabilities allow users to narrow the field by location (within 1 mile of your own location), age, gender, marital status, photo availability, height, smoking, ethnicity and more.
