Free Dating: The Whitest Lies You Know
This article needs to be prefaced, so here it is. We do not condone lying on free dating sites and committing fraud in order to meet and/or take advantage of someone. So, there you have it. Now, however, those little white lies never hurt anyone. And if you’re a guy having a little bit of trouble landing the girl you’ve got your eye on, then throwing a harmless fib into the mix may be just what the doctor ordered.
Speaking of doctors, this isn’t about telling the girl you’re a heart surgeon when you’re really the drink machine cleaner at the local convenience store. That’s just too far removed. But adding a little bit to what you’re earning to pique their interests isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Instead of being an outright fraud and lying about your profession, just glorify it some. If you’re the guy that goes out and picks up road kill, then, technically, you’re providing a service. You’re not a creepy smooshed raccoon picker-upper.
You’re something complicated and intriguing – like a road safety technician. It’s not a “lie,” per se; it’s flattering is all – like a secretary calling his or herself an assistant.
The height rule: Never go beyond 6 inches here, fellas. Look, saying you’re 5-9 when you’re only 5-6 isn’t the most savory thing in the world. But it is what it is. This little white lie can be corrected with shoe lifts, and nobody gets hurt in the process.
Another rule of thumb is to always remain complimentary to the woman you’ve got your eye on. Let’s say you’re having a webcam chat with her and she’s wearing a hideous orange sweater. Well, that’s going to become your favorite piece of clothing. It’s not hurting anyone and it makes her feel better. It’s the quintessential white lie.
Here’s a good way to look at it, guys, so you don’t get carried away when free dating. The object here, hopefully, is to create a lasting relationship with this person. So you shouldn’t be telling her anything that cannot be corrected. Twisting and tweaking is one thing. Just remember to never go above and beyond.
