Never Say This To Your Man

Some of the Worst Things to Tell a Man

Well, men and women are drastically different, no matter what type of politically correct hogwash you’re buying these days. Each gender has a different list of do’s and don’ts when it comes to things you can and should say and things you should never, ever say.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just a chat buddy with a guy on a free dating site or have been married for 50 years, some things said to a man can have negative consequences for everyone involved.

Here are a few things to never tell a man, and a subsequent explanation.

Never tell a man to “grow a pair”
Questioning a guy’s manhood isn’t good for anyone. You may be angry, you may want to say something hurtful and demeaning, but suggesting your man doesn’t have the fortitude to act like a man could lead to resentment.

Never even attempt to joke about pregnancy
There are two reasons you don’t want to do this, both of which might result in your man flat-out leaving you. One, he may be really, really exciting about having a kid, only to find out that you’re trying to have fun with him. Two, he may be dreading it and then you’ll both have some issues.

Never mention what your ex used to do for you
Your ex may have brought you flowers often, taken you to dinner and showered you in affection constantly, but bringing this up to your man is saying one thing and one thing only: “You’re not as good as my ex.” As you might imagine, this could end the relationship.

Never ask a guy about his gym habits in a derogatory way
“Hey, Jim, when’s the last time you’ve been to one?” Yeah, you can see how that might seem like some lighthearted humor, but guys take this sort of thing seriously. It’s not a relationship killing remark, but it’s certainly enough to put you in the doghouse.

Joking and making sport of your guy every once in a while isn’t a bad thing. It helps to keep them humble. But make sure not to cross a line. Some guys will really take it to heart.
